TÜViT is licensed and accredited by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for the execution of formal evaluations according to ITSEC, Common Criteria (CC) and Technical Guidelines.
The Evaluation Body IT Quality of TÜViT is accredited by the German Accreditation Body for evaluations in the field of IT Security and IT Ergonomics.
TÜViT is recognised as a listed testing laboratory by the German Banking Industry Committee for the tests and evaluations of products, components, systems and networks for the banking industry.
TÜViT is one of the few accredited testing laboratories (Cryptographic and Security Testing (CST) Laboratory) for FIPS 140-1 & 140-2 outside the US. The Evaluation Body for IT Security of TÜViT is accredited by NIST / NVLAP (NVLAP-Code 200636-0) for Cryptographic Module Testing according to FIPS 140-1 & 140-2 as well as testing of FIPS-approved and NIST-recommended Cryptographic Algorithms. Furthermore, TÜViT is accredited for Biometrics Testing. Thus, the Evaluation Body for IT Security of TÜViT is the first and up to now the only accredited evaluation body in Germany.

TÜViT runs an Evaluation and Confirmation Body accredited by the Federal Network Agency for Certification Service Providers according to the Signatures Act.
As the first non-Japanese Evaluation Body for IT Security, TÜViT is accredited by the Japanesse Certification Body IPA (Information-technology Promotion Agency) for evaluations according to CC/CEM. Furthermore, TÜViT is recognized as a Full Service Laboratory by EMVCo for the purpose of verifying that ICs and IC cards perform according to EMVCo Security Guidelines.
Of course TÜViT itself operates an effective quality management system which is certified according to ISO 9001.
In national and international research projects and committees, TÜViT plays an active role in shaping the state of the art.
