The international standard ISO/IEC 25051:2006 is a further development of standard ISO/IEC 12119:1994. The scope of ISO/IEC 25051:2006 covers software products in the form in which they are offered on the market and delivered to customers. Programs and data are primarily tested for compliance with the product description and user documentation. Only the quality characteristics which can be perceived to the outside by the customer of the user are therefore relevant for this inspection (so not, for example, the documentation of the source code).

The procedure

• The Evaluation Body for  IT Ergonomics of TÜViT is accredited by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for performance of tests for conformity with ISO/IEC 25051:2006. This means that TÜViT can issue corresponding certificates and the TÜViT "Trusted Product" test mark.
