In the case of a large software system, important influencing factors for later maintenance costs are already laid down during the development period. Above all, it is the quality of the code that determines if a system is easy to understand, transparent and can therefore be adapted without a great expenditure of time and effort.
In cooperation with the Software Improvement Group (SIG), TÜViT has laid down standard criteria for quality testing of source code. With the help of objective measurement of the code quality, an evaluation system for large software projects is created in accordance with ISO/IEC 9126 which enables sustainable quality improvements to be achieved.
