Whether cyber security, cyber security management or IT security: you decide which degree programme suits you best.
On the Bachelor's degree programme in Cyber Security, you will learn how to develop and evaluate security architectures, procedures and technologies and how to take preventative action against increasing threats. You will acquire programming skills and essential specialist knowledge of networks, databases and operating systems. Building on this, you will study system security, web security technology and applied cryptography. In simulated cyber attacks against the IT security architecture of a fictitious company, you will learn to understand the approach of hackers, identify vulnerabilities or security gaps and apply defence techniques.

In order to be able to competently assess cyber risks and develop targeted security strategies, comprehensive information technology, legal and organisational knowledge in this area is required. This is exactly where the Bachelor's degree programme in Cyber Security Management comes in. In addition to traditional course content from business informatics, you will also deal intensively with the various facets of cyber security management. This includes, for example, the planning, implementation and controlling of projects, the establishment of cyber security guidelines and risk management. The curriculum also includes topics such as cloud security management and business continuity management.

Duration: 7 semesters

On the IT Security online degree programme, you will acquire a sound basic knowledge of computer science (e.g. programming, operating systems, computer networks). Building on this, the course focuses from the outset on aspects of the organisational and technical protection of information infrastructures. You will be familiar with the "state of the art" and learn suitable methods for systematically solving security problems. The aim of the programme is to provide you with the technical and methodological knowledge you need for a successful career as an IT security specialist.
University: Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences
Duration: 6 semesters
Start of semester: April & October
If you successfully complete your dual study programme, there is a high probability that you will be offered a permanent position with us. We are always on the lookout for young, new talent to join us in the daily battle against digital attackers.

You can apply at any time for the respective summer or winter semester.
The dual study programme is offered at our locations in Essen and Berlin. If you wish, you can choose one of the two locations as your main place of work.
The university entrance qualification of the respective university must be fulfilled as a prerequisite for the degree programme. This can usually be demonstrated by an Abitur, Fachabitur or completed vocational training with at least 3 years of subsequent professional experience or with completed advanced vocational training. Depending on the chosen degree programme, the dual study course lasts 6 or 7 semesters, i.e. just under 3 or 3 1/2 years.
