Software-Entwicklerin

The working atmosphere at TÜVIT in 3 words:

  • Cooperative
  • Friendly
  • Professional

How long have you been with TÜVIT, and how did you come to join the company?

I have been working for TÜVIT since 2018. Back then, I started as a student and applied for a job advert for a working student position. I still remember the day of the interview very well. It was a Friday in January 2018 and I was accepted the same day. They didn't want to keep me waiting, so I was able to celebrate my new job all weekend. After more than a year as a working student, I graduated and started working full-time straight after graduating.

Why have you been doing this for so long?

Because I feel very comfortable here, both professionally and personally. I've also been able to develop further over the past few years and have worked on a wide range of projects. In the beginning, for example, I was also allowed to attend German courses to improve my language skills. I really enjoyed this support for foreign employees. I also have very cool, talented colleagues in my team who I enjoy working with. All of this has motivated me to stay with TÜVIT in the long term.

I like the variety in my job. Every day brings new challenges. I can learn something new every day and develop in different areas.

Marjan Ziyaei

Software developer

What are your responsibilities at TÜVIT and what training do you have?

I did my Bachelor's degree in Iran and my Master's degree in Computer Engineering in Germany at the University of Duisburg-Essen. I work as a developer on many different, mostly internal projects. My main task is to develop and implement various requirements to improve existing features or develop new features. Put simply, it's mainly about developing software solutions for internal purposes.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

We work in a very agile way in our team. We always have a short team meeting in the morning and at lunchtime to discuss current projects and problems. Otherwise, we work with a ticket system. There you can choose between different tickets that you want to work on. Of course, there are also priorities, but you always have a choice and are not simply assigned something. There are also weekly meetings with the specialist departments, who address their requirements to us in the form of tickets. I really appreciate the dialogue within the team and with the specialist departments and it is particularly important in order not to lose sight of the big picture.

What motivates you in your daily work?

I am motivated by the opportunity to find creative solutions and realise innovative ideas. The teamwork and the fact that everyone has a common goal in mind also motivates me every day.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on so far?

I can think of two projects off the top of my head. One is the Digital Audit Assistant, a software solution designed to support our auditors in their day-to-day audits. It took several years to develop and was very complex, partly because new features were constantly being added. The other was a tool for AI testing, which we developed together with the IT Security department and the Fraunhofer Institute. The testing tool is now used to test AI systems and is part of our AI security services.

Would you like to tell us a little more about yourself? What do you do in your free time? What are your hobbies?

My favourite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. We cook or bake together. I also like to experience nature, e.g. I like to go on picnics in the countryside.

Can you balance work and leisure time well?

Yes, always. We're not tied to an office workplace and I work from home a lot, which makes it easy to harmonise everything. I also always make sure that I use my working hours as effectively as possible and plan my free time. At TÜVIT, it is possible to be motivated at work on the one hand and have enough time for personal matters on the other. This work-life balance is very important to me. Work and leisure time have to be balanced or in equilibrium with each other. I have this opportunity here and I really appreciate it.
