The working atmosphere at TÜVIT in 3 words:

  • Open
  • Friendly
  • Team orientated

How long have you been with TÜVIT, and how did you come to join the company?

I have been with TÜVIT since January 2017. In my previous job, I was responsible for software quality assurance as a test manager. After completing my Master's degree in IT Management, I decided to switch to the world of management systems.

Why have you been doing this for so long?

The topic of "management systems" and supporting organisations from various sectors make my job exciting and varied. I enjoy being part of the continuous improvement process and providing customers or organisations with further input for the ongoing development of management systems.

TÜVIT offers me the opportunity to continuously develop my professional skills and actively shape topics. Particularly in the area of management systems, I have the space to set new priorities and help shape the content - that's not a given.

What does a typical working day look like for you?

My day-to-day work is characterised by a conscious dual role: as an auditor, I audit management systems directly at our customers' premises and experience first-hand how standard requirements are implemented in practice. As a technical expert, I use this experience to further develop audit methods, key topics and technical guidelines in a targeted manner. It is precisely this alternation between practical and conceptual work that characterises my day-to-day work.

I spend a lot of time travelling and enjoy meeting colleagues in the office from time to time.

What motivates me most is that my work has an impact. Audits allow me to see directly where management systems are working well and where they can create real added value.

Lead Expert Management Systems

What do you like most about your job?

I am particularly motivated by the fact that my work has an impact. I not only check requirements, but also help to make management systems effective, understandable and sustainable - for customers as well as for our own audit portfolio.

What motivates you in your daily work?

The dynamic nature of the subject area really motivates me. New regulatory requirements, technological developments and different customer contexts ensure that I am constantly learning and developing my expertise. Translating the findings from audits that I carry out into viable solutions and further developments is meaningful for me.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on so far?

I was given the opportunity to fulfil the role of project manager in a cross-company project. This involved a published study on the topic: "Status Quo: Safety & Security in incident-relevant operating areas".

The study shows that the digitalisation of incident-relevant operating areas brings with it both opportunities and considerable risks. Coordinated organisational structures, technical expertise, adapted regulations and greater consideration of cyber security in safety processes are required to ensure safety and security. The study provides practical insights and recommendations for action that are particularly relevant for operators, authorities and experts in order to fulfil the need for protection in digitally networked industrial environments.

Would you like to tell us a little more about yourself? What do you do in your free time? What are your hobbies?

If there's any time left over from family life with 2 children, I like to play badminton. However, most of my time is reserved for trips with the family.

Can you balance work and leisure time well?

Yes, definitely.
