Your future colleagues
From former intern to Senior Controller: When Yann completed his internship as an IT specialist for system integration with us in 2013, he probably never thought that 3 months would turn into more than 10 years. In this interview, he explains how this came about, what his tasks are and why he has been with us for so long.
The working atmosphere at TÜVIT in 3 words:
For almost exactly 12 years! Back in May 2013, I completed a three-month internship as an IT specialist for system integration, which was brought to my attention by an employee. I then applied for a dual study programme and completed my Bachelor's and Master's degree alongside my training and job.
Because I enjoy my work and I really appreciate the friendly and collegial environment. The atmosphere in the IT industry is relaxed and wonderfully uncomplicated, which makes work even easier and is also an incentive to get things done.
My tasks are varied and go beyond traditional controlling. For example, regular activities such as monthly or annual financial statements and regular financial reporting are only part of my range of tasks.
There are also many other commercial activities, such as preparing specific commercial documents for various committees (e.g. draft resolutions, status presentations, etc.) or risk management for the associated companies in our division. This multifaceted nature means that the work is never boring.
What motivates me above all is the team spirit and the way our colleagues interact with each other. Everyone pulls together to drive the success of the division. Also the recognition you receive for the work you do.

Working on new projects or dealing with "special commercial cases". One example is the new reporting for the Group project "FIT4FUTURE", which involves calculating contributions to improving results through various measures and communicating them to managers. I also find the international collaboration with our profit centres very interesting. For example, I regularly hold forecast meetings with my international colleagues. The Group is active in many countries and I find it exciting to be able to deepen my intercultural competences and foreign language skills through my work.
In addition to the "FIT4FUTURE" project already mentioned, I was involved in a major restructuring project within our business division, which involved many different players and in which many topics had to be harmonised. I learnt a lot from this. However, this was more of a larger process with many small sub-processes than a single project.
I discovered running during the coronavirus period and have been a member of an athletics club for about a year now, where we train regularly. For me, it's the perfect balance to the rather "static" office routine.
Yes, thanks to the new OfA regulations in our business area, it's simply brilliant. I come to the office once a week and otherwise work from home. This saves me long commuting times and allows me to harmonise my professional and private life very well.
