Digital consumer protection: Numerous security gaps in IoT devices, routers & health apps (Kopie 1)

Due to technological progress and an ever-increasing range of new digital consumer products, the digital consumer market continues to grow. At the same time, however, it also offers new targets for cyber criminals. So what is the state of IT security? The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has investigated this question.

AI Testing and Compliance Center

The new competence centre is characterised by comprehensive expertise and offers a wide range of services: from the secure implementation of and compliance with regulatory requirements (such as the EU AI Act) to technical testing for all areas of application of AI systems. Companies and organisations benefit from holistic support from a single source, covering both internal AI applications and complex systems requiring approval in safety-critical or data protection-sensitive areas such as medicine or the financial sector. Customers are supported through all phases of the development process - from the initial concept idea to final approval.

Through the merger, the AI Testing and Compliance Centre builds on decades of practical and conceptual experience in the testing of systems as well as the use of new technologies such as AI in practice. The centre can draw on more than 2,000 highly qualified experts from TÜV Informationstechnik (TÜV NORD GROUP) and d-fine. The teams' diverse backgrounds in physics, mathematics, computer science, IT security and engineering enable a holistic view of all relevant aspects of the respective AI application - including robustness, cybersecurity, safety and data protection.

The competence centre provides its services to companies, institutions and the public sector.

The centre's activities focus on the DACH region, i.e. Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The new testing organisation is currently being founded and will offer its services in the near future.
